When Angel Alvarez suggested to his mother, Esperanza, that she write her autobiography, he was met with a response that we often hear at LifeBook Memoirs: that she felt her life had not been exceptional enough to warrant one.
Each life is special, however, and Esperanza’ memories are unique to her. She is also the custodian of a wealth of stories that her family were anxious to record. Angel gifted his mother a LifeBook project, and the resulting autobiography, Hope, has not stopped bringing joy to the family since its completion. It is even prompting the telling of yet more stories!
With Esperanza’s autobiography completed, Angel sat down with LifeBook Memoirs co-founder Roy Moëd to reflect on his mother’s experience of creating it.
Esperanza’s LifeBook, entitled Hope, was completed in 2023.
